Some Projects Just Wait for You to Stop Waiting

We all have that one project. The one that's been sitting on a "someday" list for so long it's practically fossilized. Mine was building a VS Code theme.

It never felt urgent. It never felt "real" enough to prioritize over client work, deadlines, or the ten other things screaming for attention. So it kept getting pushed. Month after month. Year after year.

Until one day I got tired of waiting for the right moment — because the right moment doesn't show up on its own. You have to make it.

So I built it.

Introducing Vibe Theme

Vibe Theme is a color theme designed for VS Code, Google Anti-Gravity, and Cursor, inspired by where design is heading in 2026: bold contrast, calm backgrounds, and syntax highlighting that actually helps you read code instead of just decorating it.

It's not just a reskin. Every color was chosen to reduce visual noise while keeping enough personality that your editor still feels like yours.

Why This Matters More Than It Sounds

It's easy to dismiss a side project like this as "just a theme." But the real story isn't about colors and hex codes — it's about finally shipping something that lived in your head for years.

Most of us have a graveyard of half-finished ideas: an app we never launched, a course we never recorded, a tool we never open-sourced. Not because they weren't good ideas, but because something else always felt more urgent, more justified, more "worth the time."

The truth is that the list doesn't get shorter by waiting. It gets shorter by shipping.

Your Turn

So here's the question I'd ask you: what's the project you've been postponing? The one you keep telling yourself you'll get to eventually?

Maybe it's time to stop waiting for permission and just build it. 🥸
